Modular Course Design

The CDCA/ADEX clinical examination is component-based, meaning each hands-on discipline is evaluated
independently and candidates are not required to repeat components they have already passed.

Our program is structured as a modular course to reflect this format. Participants may enroll in the
full hands-on program or select individual modules based on their exam status and preparation needs.

First-time examinees: Completing the full hands-on program is generally recommended
to ensure comprehensive preparation across all clinical components.
Re-takers: Individual modules may be selected to focus preparation on specific
component(s) that need to be repeated or strengthened.

Course Topics Covered

The full hands-on program is delivered over five instructional days.

Restorative Dentistry: Covered over the first two days of the course, with focus on preparation and restoration techniques evaluated during the hands-on examination.
Endodontics and Periodontal Diagnosis and Treatment: Covered on the third day of the course, including access preparation, instrumentation, obturation, and periodontal procedures.
Prosthodontics: Covered over the fourth and fifth days of the course, with emphasis on crown and fixed dental prosthesis preparation.

Note: Course sequencing reflects instructional design and does not imply the scheduling order of examination components, which may vary by testing site.

Daily Schedule

7:30 AM – 12:30 PM: Live demonstrations and hands-on mentoring
12:30 PM – 1:30 PM: Lunch break
1:30 PM – 5:30 PM: Live demonstrations and hands-on mentoring
5:30 PM – 8:00 PM: Independent practice (except on the final day)

Note: Daily schedules may vary slightly based on course flow and instructional needs.

What to Bring

Plan to bring the instruments, materials, and accessories you intend to use for the hands-on portion of the examination—essentially everything you would bring on exam day, including a typodont and replacement teeth.

For preparation purposes, Dr. Stevenson provides a recommended checklist as a reference. Materials and supplies are not included in tuition. Most commonly needed items are available
for purchase on-site and online.
