This intensive hands-on workshop develops precise preparation techniques for anterior full-coverage ceramic crowns, including zirconia and lithium disilicate. Participants practice material-specific reduction, anatomical contouring, finish-line design, and preparation refinement under faculty guidance.
Topics Covered:
1. Principles of anterior full-crown preparation geometry and design
2. Rotary instrument selection and efficient bur sequencing
3. Depth-orientation grooves and calibrated facial reduction
4. Two-plane facial reduction and anatomical contour preservation
5. Incisal reduction, clearance, and edge configuration
6. Lingual reduction, cingulum contouring, and palatal concavity
7. Proximal reduction, contact clearance, and adjacent-tooth protection
8. Rounded shoulder and deep chamfer finish-line variations for contemporary ceramics
9. Total occlusal convergence, path of insertion, and final refinement
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this workshop, participants will be able to:
1. Demonstrate a systematic anterior ceramic full-crown preparation using depth-orientation and sequential rotary instrumentation.
2. Differentiate zirconia and lithium disilicate preparation requirements, including reduction and finish-line design.
3. Execute anatomically appropriate facial, incisal, proximal, and lingual reductions while controlling convergence and insertion path.
4. Evaluate and refine clearance, margin continuity, smoothness, and conservation of sound tooth structure.
