COURSE III

Posterior Ceramic Restorations:

During this 18-hour course, participants will learn how to prepare posterior teeth for ceramic onlays and crowns using a simplified 5-step technique.  Tissue management, provisionalization, digital scanning, design, and milled and printed restoration fabrication will be covered, with each participant making a ceramic onlay, which will be adhesively delivered during the hands-on sessions.

[It is recommended that participants take Courses I and II before this course]

  • Occlusal clearance requirements
  • Achieving proficiency in the crown prep approach
  • Tissue protection and management
  • Scanning techniques
  • CAD-CAM restorations
  • Delivery protocol
  • Occlusal adjustment and polishing

Learning Objectives:

  • How to optimize crown and onlay preparations for each all-ceramic material
  • How to perform the 5-minute crown prep method
  • How to use five special burs in 5 steps
  • Understand the sequence for bonded and non-bonded restorations
